This Guy Paid P 107 million for His 2020 Toyota GR Supra
How much are you willing for a 2020 Toyota Supra? While some enterprising dude has already tacked on a P 350,000 mark up, how does a cool P 107 million sound? Well, that’s how much John Staluppi paid for his Matte Storm Gray unit.
A Toyota dealer based in the U.S., Staluppi took possession of the first-ever 2020 GR Supra to roll off the production line. Dubbed “Global #1,” he paid a cool USD 2.1 million for it last January at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
What makes his car special is that it is the only GR Supra in the world that will have a VIN number that ends in 20201—with “2020” representing the year the Supra was re-introduced and “1” marking it as the first vehicle to roll off the production line.
Aside from the Matte Storm Gray paint job, this GR Supra is part of the U.S. launch edition. For that, it carries red mirror caps, matte black wheels and a red interior with carbon fiber inserts.
The GR Supra aside, Staluppi also received a goodie bag including a Toyota racing suit and a signed photo from Toyota Motor Corporation President Akio Toyoda. Toyoda also signed the #1 Supra’s engine cover to commemorate the first Supra produced in 20 years.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit the American Heart Association and the Bob Woodruff Foundation, which serves veteran and military families.
