UD Trucks Launches Croner Medium-Duty Truck
Leading Japanese commercial vehicle brand UD Trucks launched the all-new Croner through its exclusive dealer, Prime Quest Transport Solutions, Inc. A wholly-owned subsidiary of Volvo Trucks, UD Trucks has been an innovation leader in smart logistics solutions. The all-new Croner is their all-new medium-duty truck that’s specially targeted for its growth markets across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and South America.
The Croner is a reliable and versatile truck range built with robust and quality components delivering extra productivity and superior uptime. Available in two gross vehicle weight (GVW) configurations—the LKE and PKE as well as their wheelbase variants, the Croner has several different basic configurations to suit the demands of various industries. Air suspension is even available as an option for areas which regularly traverse rough road conditions.
The UD Trucks’ Croner is also said to be one of the most fuel-efficient trucks thanks to its new GHE engine series, automatic transmission, built-in fuel coach, and a more aerodynamic cab design (co-efficient of drag is down 5 percent). It also comes with UD Telematics for generating utilization reports, track & trace services, and proactive support.
The Croner LKE comes with the GH5E engine making up to 240 horsepower and 900 Nm of torque. It has a GVW of 12 to 14 tons and is available in cargo or tipper body configurations. Meanwhile, the Croner PKE has a GVW of 15 to 17 tons and comes with up to 280 horsepower and 1,050 Nm of torque. This one comes in cargo, tipper, or compactor body configurations.
“UD Trucks believes that more time spent on the road and less time in the workshop adds up to the success of our customers’ business. It is our aim for Croner to make every moment count, through maximizing productivity and minimizing downtime on every run our customers make,” said Jacques Michel, Senior Vice President, UD Trucks International Sales.
“In the last few years, UD Trucks has seen tremendous growth especially in Southeast Asia, in some key markets like Philippines. I strongly believe that the combination of the Japanese heritage of UD Trucks, the local ‘Gemba’ spirit where value is created and the strong support from the Volvo Group, UD Trucks can definitely bring customers’ success to the next level. Philippines is a market where UD Trucks has historically been strong, where it has since long ago earned customers’ trust across the nation,” commented Steve Hedouin, Managing Director of UD Trucks Philippines.
“New Croner is the truck that can help meet our customers’ requirements and expectations to manage their key business challenges”, added Steve.
The Croner is backed up by UD Extra Mile Support services, such as UD Genuine Service and Parts, UD Driver Training, and UD Trust Service Agreements. These were developed to ensure its trucks run and remain in optimum condition to go the extra mile, saving minutes, hours, and days over the years.
In addition to its Extra Mile Support, UD Trucks also offers professional telematics solution that provides customers with real time information and reports to improve their fleets’ operation. By connecting its trucks to the UD workshops, UD Trucks enables proactive and continuous workshop support to its customers.
