The First-Ever X7 is BMW Philippines's New Dimension in Luxury
SMC Asia Car Distributors Corp., the official importer and distributor of BMW in the Philippines has announced the availability of its flagship BMW X7—the first Sports Activity Vehicle (SUV in BMW talk) to fuse agility and versatility with presence, exclusivity, and spaciousness.
The front-end is dominated by a love-it-or-hate-it exceptionally large BMW kidney grille. With BMW Laserlight headlight technology, it throws its headlights up to a distance of 600 meters (high-beam). The headlights also feature blue x-shaped elements, while at the side its stance emphasizes its high ground clearance and long roofline. At the back, it has horizontal LED headlights and a two-section split-tailgate. Outfitted in the Pure Excellence design trim, it has generous chrome elements, high-gloss black and satin aluminum accents, and 21-inch light-alloy wheels with run flat tires. With dimensions of 5,151 mm x 2,000 mm x 1,805 mm (L x W x H) and a wheelbase of 3,105 mm, it’s authoritative while also showing off BMW’s new design language.
The roominess and versatility of the interior are underlined by the standard inclusion of three rows of seats (offering space for seven people in total) in the new BMW X7. The two passengers in the third row settle into full-size seats complete with armrests, cupholders, and USB ports. All seats are adjusted electrically at the push of a button. The boot capacity can be increased from 326 to a maximum of 2,120 litres, as required.
Carefully selected and meticulously crafted materials add to the feeling of luxury, as does the extensive standard specification. The BMW X7 comes as standard with BMW Individual Extended Leather Trim “Merino” Upholstery, five-zone automatic climate control, the Ambient Air package, the Panorama glass roof Sky Lounge, CraftedClarity glass applications, Harman Kardon Surround Sound System, Rear-seat Entertainment Professional system, Luggage-compartment Package, and ambient lighting including the Welcome Light Carpet.
The BMW Live Cockpit Professional fitted as standard in the BMW X7 comprises a fully digital instrument cluster and a Control Display, each of which have a screen diagonal of 12.3 inches with Navigation fitted as standard. Apple CarPlay is officially supported, together with Bluetooth and USB connectivity.
The sole engine available at is a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-6 diesel with an output of 265 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque. An eight-speed Steptronic Sport transmission is standard, while the task of transferring their power onto either asphalt or loose terrain falls to the BMW xDrive intelligent all-wheel-drive system – complete with optimized efficiency and rear-biased set-up.
The BMW X7 boasts a wealth of chassis technology as standard, including Adaptive Suspension with electronically controlled dampers, and air springs at both axles. The vehicle’s ground clearance can be varied by up to 80 millimeters to suit the situation at hand, by either pressing a button or using the BMW Display Key.
As the flagship of BMW’s SUV range, the X7 comes with a comprehensive array of driver assistance systems such as 6 airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and Active Protection closes any windows and tightens seatbelts when the system detects an accident about to happen. Integral active steering helps improve road safety and comfort by turning the rear wheels slightly when needed, and adjusts the weight of the steering feel for optimum manoeuvrability. Cruise Control with Braking function is srandard, as well as Parking Assistant Plus, which offers a range of functions including Park Distance Control (PDC) front and rear, together with rear view camera and surround view.
The BMW X7 xDrive30d Pure Excellence is now available at P 9,290,000.00. It comes with a 5-year, 200,000-kilometer manufacturer’s warranty.
