Toyota Buys Stake in Suzuki
Subaru, Mazda, and now, Suzuki. Toyota Motor Corporation has a partnership stake in them all. After announcing a technical partnership in March, the Toyota has extended its alliance with small car specialist Suzuki to cover ownership as well.
In order to meet the challenges in an era that prioritizes autonomous driving and electrification, Toyota is acquiring 24,000,000 shares of common stock in Suzuki, representing a 4.94 percent ownership. Likewise, Suzuki plans to acquire shares in Toyota amounting to 48 billion yen (~ P 23.75 billion).
Currently, Toyota owns 16 percent of Subaru and 5 percent of Mazda as well.
