Chevrolet Digs Into Their Accessories Catalog and Produces the Colorado Trail Boss
Last July, Chevrolet came up with a special edition Colorado dubbed the 4th of July Edition. It was, in a word, lame and we called it, “everything that’s wrong with Chevrolet.” It certainly left a bad taste in our mouth that’s now being rinsed off by the Colorado Trail Boss.
Like the 4th of July Edition, the Colorado Trail Boss is basically an aesthetic makeover, but unlike Chevrolet’s previous attempt, this one’s actually pretty likable.
Launched in Thailand, the Colorado Trail Boss throws in lots of black stuff. Upfront, there’s a spiffy black Chevrolet badge set atop the black grille; at each corner, black fender flares with high-gloss black 18-inch wheels; and at the back, a unique “tactical-style” bed bar. Everything is finished off by a Colorado black decal on the tailgate and “Trail Boss” decals on the side.
Despite the “Trail Boss” name though, this pick-up truck won’t get far on trails because it’s purely a 2WD drive machine. Still, points at least for its well-rounded set of safety features such as three airbags, ABS with EBD, and stability control with hill start assist and hill descent control.
For now, the Colorado Trail Boss is sold exclusively in Thailand, but given how the Thai-market High Country Storm made it to the country, there’s high chance Chevrolet Philippines will add this as some sort of special variant in the near future.
In Thailand, the Colorado Trail Boss retails for 859,000 Baht (~ P 1.467 million).
