Upcoming Subaru Levorg to Debut Electronic Dampers, Driver Mode Selector
The all-new, second-generation Levorg is inching closer to production as Subaru showcased a version massaged by in-house tuner STI at the Tokyo Auto Salon.
Aside from the new look-fast bits, Subaru and STI worked together to further enhance the driving performance of the Levorg. And the most notable new feature? Electronically-controlled dampers. The first time they’ll be employed in a Subaru, it’ll deliver a higher-quality, sportier feel.
The electronically-controlled dampers will then be connected to a Drive Mode Select system which allows the driver to change the vehicle’s characteristics with just the push of a button. The system controls the power unit, steering, dampers, and even the all-wheel drive system.
Production of the all-new Levorg commences sometime after the Summer Olympics according to Subaru’s Asian distributor, Motor Image.
