Our First Look at the 2020 Ford Bronco is This Baja Race Truck
With a Spring 2020 launch date, Ford is starting to tease its upcoming Ranger-based Bronco SUV. The latest one is this: the race-inspired Bronco R prototype.
Developed by Ford Performance with builder Geiser Bros Design and Development and Baja 1000 Trophy Truck champion Cameron Steele, this racer drops heavy heritage-inspired design and proportion hints of what everyone can expect to see with the production Bronco.
Ford says its Bronco is “built for this,” and with that, it will take part in a near 1,000-mile (1,600-kilometer) grueling off-road course and challenge in the Baja Peninsula to challenge the production model’s powertrain and architecture.
