The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Confirmed to Have 760 Horsepower

The Dodge SRT Hellcat better watch out: the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is about to arrive, and this time, it’s got the bite to match its bark (or if you prefer, the venom to match its bite).

Anyway, confirmed for the ultimate Mustang is a 5.2-liter V8 that’s been supercharged to produce 760 horsepower and 847 Nm of torque. Though it still falls short of the Demon’s 840 horsepower / 1,144 Nm of torque outputs, it easily outguns the SRT Hellcat’s 707 horsepower output.

Ford also says this new engine is the “most power and torque dense supercharged production V8 in the world.”

The 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500 will likely be the current-generation Mustang’s last hurrah as an all-new model, rumored to gain some sort of electrified drivetrain will debut in 2021.
