Mazda Philippines Has Implemented a Change with Their Service Schedule

Continuing its pursuit of building cars that create kizuna—or the lasting, almost inseparable bond with its owner, Mazda Philippines has announced a change to its Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) program that covers all vehicle releases this month onwards.

Already a pioneer of the all-inclusive periodic maintenance service package that covers both parts and labor for the first 3 years or 60,000 kilometers (Mazda calls it Yojin-3), Mazda Philippines is now elevating it by announcing that the first time any new Mazda owner will set foot once in the dealer is with his or her 10,000-kilometer PMS.

Previously, Mazda, like most Philippine-based automakers, will require owners to bring in their newly purchased vehicle a month or 1,000-km (whichever comes first) after driving out of the dealership before switching to either a 3-month / 5,000-km or 6-month / 10,000-km interval. Beginning this month though, all new Mazda vehicle releases will have their first dealer visit at the 10,000-km mark.

“Small stuff like this can take a lot of time and effort to implement,” says Steven Tan, President of Bermaz Auto Philippines, distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the country. “But removing the 1,000-km PMS frees up customer time. It may take just an hour to perform this service, but it takes a lot of hours for customers to bring their car in and out.”

Rod Abanes, Service Manager at Mazda Makati furthers, “We do everything that needs to be done at the 1,000-km PMS during the pre-delivery inspection before we turnover the new car to the customer. The 1,000-km PMS is more for us to get customer feedback, and perhaps answer any question the customer might have about his or her vehicle.”
