GAC Motor Bags Manufacturer's Class Win at 12-Hour Endurance Race

First time’s the charm for GAC Motor. China’s fastest growing automaker scored the Manufacturer’s Class win for both the 4-hour and 12-hour segments of this year’s Kalayaan Cup Endurance Challenge.

The GAC Motor Race Team, composed of Brennan Lim, Mark Bernardo, Francis Arjonillo, Aurick Go, Sung Joon Park, Andre Tan, Jun Magno, and E.Z. Ligaya piloted a GAC GA4 sedan equipped with a 114 horsepower 1.5-liter engine and a 5-speed manual transmission. Proving its worth on the race track, the GA4 made it to the checked flag after 12 hours without any issues.

Aside from bagging the Manufacturer’s Class win, GAC Motor also scored a second place in the overall standing after 4 hours and fourth overall at the 12-hour mark.

GAC Breaks Ground in Cebu

Legado Motors, Inc. (LMI), the official distributor of GAC Motor in the Philippines, held a groundbreaking ceremony last March 24 at the future site of its new dealership in Cebu.

Less than a month since the grand opening of GAC Motor’s first dealership in Central Luzon, China’s fastest-growing automaker will soon establish a dealership in the City of Mandaue.

In attendance during the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Vince Lim of Autozam Motors, LMI Chief Executive Officer Mr. Wilbert Lim, LMI Chief Finance Officer Ms. Regina Lim, and LMI Vice President for Sales and Operations Mr. Giovanni Frias.

The new dealership will be located at M.L. Quezon St., Casuntingan, Mandaue City and is expected to open later this year with top-notch facilities and services.

“We are excited to introduce the world-class vehicles of GAC Motor here in Southern Philippines. Our new dealership will open more job opportunities and will contribute to the growth of the automotive industry here in Cebu,” Vince Lim shared.

GAC Motor offers a wide range of luxury vehicles namely GA4 sedan (available in 1.5-liter manual and 1.3-liter gas turbo automatic transmissions), GS4 subcompact SUV, GA8 executive sedan (available in four and five-seater variants), GM8 premium seven-seater minivan, and the flagship model, GS8 large SUV (available in 4x2 and 4x4 variants).

GAC to Expand Reach to Southern Metro Manila

GAC is expanding its reach to Southern Metro Manila with the formal dealership agreement signing to put up GAC Motor in Westgate Alabang.

Destry Lachaona, General Sales Manager and Arceli Seva, Accounting Head of Automotive Icon Inc. signed the contract at GAC Motor Metrowalk, Pasig last March 18 led by LMI Chief Executive Officer Wilbert Lim and Vice President for Sales and Operations Giovanni Frias.

“As the official distributor of GAC Motor here in the country, we are pleased to welcome the newest member of our growing network of dealers. GAC Motor will definitely be the next big hit in the automotive industry through the support of our clients and dealers,” Lim said.

Deemed China’s “highest-quality and safest car brand,” GAC offers a wide line-up from sedans, a compact SUV, a large SUV, and an MPV. All GAC Motor vehicles received 5-star ratings in China Automotive Technology and Research Center’s China-New Car Assessment Program (C-NCAP) crash test. Last February 26, GAC Motor has opened its first dealership in Central Luzon and is set to open two more showrooms in Tarlac and Mandaue City later this year.
