2019 Chevrolet Camaro Gets Turbo Power, More Safety Tech than Ford Mustang (w/ Specs)

The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the exclusive importer and distributor of Chevrolet automobiles and parts in the Philippines, brings an exhilarating driving experience for car enthusiasts as it unveiled the new Chevrolet Camaro at the 2019 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) last April 4, 2019 at the World Trade Center, Pasay City.

The launch of the Camaro marks the return of the iconic supercar in the Philippines. First introduced in the country in 2010, the Camaro shows off its aggressive new looks combined with renowned performance and enhanced technology.

The latest Camaro RS offering from Chevrolet Philippines is powered by a 2.0-liter DOHC VVT direct injection turbo engine that delivers 275 horsepower and 398 Nm of torque. Coupled with an 8-speed paddle-shift automatic transmission, the Camaro inspires a responsive and efficient everyday drive on the freeway.

The Camaro is fitted with high performance Brembo brakes featuring 4-piston calipers, promising track enthusiasts with serious stopping power while maintaining street drivability.

The Camaro was designed to be an iconic masterpiece. With its sculpted hood, boldly reimagined grilles, piercing LED headlamps, heritage-inspired taillamps, and muscular flanks, the high performance vehicle is guaranteed to make an unmistakable impression on the road.

Complementing its dramatic and contemporary architecture is the RS package that highlights the Camaro’s sporty attitude. 5-spoke 20-inch machined wheels, LED tail lamps, decklid spoiler, polished honeycomb grille, illuminated Camaro sill plates, RS badge, and black front and rear Chevrolet bowtie emblems complete the Camaro’s athletic style.

Inside, the sixth generation muscle car features a refined cockpit optimized for performance driving with a leather-wrapped flat-bottom steering wheel, black leather interior panel, and custom leather-trimmed dashboard and console. The driver sport buckets memory seat features an 8-way power adjust and ventilated with cooling and heating, while the passenger sport buckets seat features a 6-way power adjust with cooling and heating ventilation.

The Camaro offers premium and intuitive technologies that complete one’s driving experience. Slated with an 8-inch touchscreen display featuring the latest Chevrolet MyLink Infotainment System with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, the vehicle allows for hand-free access information, entertainment, and phone connectivity. The Camaro is fitted with premium Bose 9-speaker sound system to further elevate the driving experience inside the vehicle.

The Camaro comes with a digital pit crew through its Head-Up Display, which offers three different views and projects data near your line of sight on the windshield. Its adjustable positioning and brightness keep the driver informed on speed, turn-by-turn directions, audio information, fuel level, and gear selection while focusing on the road ahead.

Its 8-inch reconfigurable driver information display with digital and analog gauges links to Driver Mode Selector that allows one to choose between various vehicle characteristics for a full customized driving experience.

The Camaro makes road safety a top priority. The American muscle car is packed with a host of advanced safety technologies including ABS with EBD, stability control, Lane Change Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Engine Immobilizer, Rear Parking Sensors, and built-in Reversing Camera. The Camaro also comes with a special Chevrolet warranty of five years or 100,000 kms., whichever comes first.

The Chevrolet Camaro 2.0L Turbo 3LT RS is now available at P 3,298,888.00.

Holy Hell! The Chevrolet Camaro's Coming Back to the Philippines

Just when you thought Chevrolet Philippines was happy enough with bringing the Corvette to local shores, they’ve dropped the bomb and revealed that their iconic muscle car, the Camaro, is destined for a comeback. Mark your calendars because it’s happening in April at the Manila International Auto Show.

Based on the teaser photo sent to us, The Covenant Car Company, Inc. (TCCCI), the official distributor of Chevrolet vehicles in the country is set to reveal the RS variant of the 2019 Camaro. If their specification is the same as the U.S. model, expect it to be a looker with exterior features like a polished black grille with Galvano Chrome inserts, LED headlights with LED daytime running lights, a diffuser built into the rear bumper, dark-tinted taillights, and 20-inch alloy wheels.

Before, when TCCCI offered the Camaro, it was made available with a 3.6-liter V6. This will most likely continue in 2019 and this means it’ll offer 335 horsepower and 385 Nm of torque on tap. However, TCCCI can opt to spring a surprise and bring in the 2.0-liter turbo instead. If this is the guise they’re bringing in, it’ll have 275 horsepower and 400 Nm of torque. Regardless of engine, the transmission it’s attached to will most likely be an 8-speed automatic.

Chevrolet also promises that the 2019 Camaro will offer a more personalized and more intuitive experience for drivers and passengers alike. If TCCCI brings in the top-trim 3LT, expect features like an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, power front seats with ventilated and heated function, and a 9-speaker Bose sound system.

All eyes will be on the Chevrolet pavilion this coming April 4-7, 2019 at the World Trade Center.
